Frontier Indian Kingdoms and Arabs:

Frontier Indian Kingdoms and Arabs:

When the Arabs overran Persia, they came into contact with what was then the

frontiers of India. Partially because they had stretched themselves too far, also

because they knew little of thie areas beyond but also because they encountered

kingdoms who were prepared to contest the Arb advance, the Arab expansion

halted here.

One of the kingdoms that was considered a frontier Indian kingdom was Kapisa,

also identified with the people described as Kamboj in the Mahabharata.

Identified with Kshatriya kings, Brahmins and Budhhism, this kingdom was also

identified with Turki Shahis, also identified as India Kshatriyas, it offered fierce

resistance and defeats to Arabs.
