Kharavela

A Chakravrthin ruler, Kharavela was initially a King of Kalinga, under whom a very large empire grew that conquered Magadh, drove Yavana kings towards Mathura in fear, subdued the Satakarnis and established overlordship from east to parts of north India. He also constructed huge public works and expanded trade and cultural relations with South East Asia. His inscriptions are found in the Hathigumpha caves. He is said to have existed around the era between 2nd and 1st century BC.
