There were three famous Chandraguptas as Indian Emperors
The name Chandragupta has been used by not one or two but by three famous Indian emperors. The first was Chandragupta Maurya who in response to the Greek Alexander’s invasion, conquered and united most of India and founded the Maurya dynasty, ruling from 320 BC to 298 BC. The second was one of the founding figures of the Gupta Empire called Chandragupta I, who ruled from 319 to 335 AD. He married a Lichhavi Princess and expanded his territory. The third was Chandragupta II who became famous as Chandragupta Vikramaditya. He conquered territory across India and pushed North-West going as far as Balkh and Oxus Valley, according to some sources. He ruled from 375 to 415 AD.
